FAMILY fishing HAYWARD,WI history

My family heritage started fishing the HAYWARD, WI area in 1948 on Teal Lake at Back-o-Beyond and Bricks Resort -this MUSKY picture above is Milo Faulkner my Grandad with my Mother at his side and in my younger days we stayed at Musky Tale! Reel Livin Resort on Lost Land Lake later became our vacation with my kids growing up fishing there! My grandad taught me EVERYTHING there is to know on these lakes! He was an avid MUSKY/CRAPPIE fisherman while grandma loved battling those SMALLMOUTH BASS! He and Ivan, Rollie always had a contest going on- one liked ROW TROLLING, while the other used a live bait spinner rig under a bobber! I can still hear them YELLING across the bays at each other! However, he has now passed on and so it's IMPORTANT that all our hard work doesn't go WASTED away and that we PASS ON our techniques to catch fish on these hayward lakes!

Fishing began at a very early age for me as you can see here in this picture above with my young self and brother with my GRANDAD holding this Giant Musky next to us! He started me out on my 1st Johnson push button reel. Grandad always took us to TEAL LAKE and when I caught that 12" crappie I then became FISH CRAZED! Every year I couldn't wait to get to  the cabin at Musky Tale owned by Terry and Diane Peterson. Watching Terry guide his guests when I was young inspired me to be a Fishing Guide! He may not know this but I considered him to be my IDOL growing up. He was an excellent guide then and I believe he still guides today! Unfortunately Terry passed away but his legacy is embedded in my brain forever! After living here in Hayward for the last 18yrs and we have CONQUERED the lakes in the area and started guiding myself!
